LAWLOR TO LEAVE STATE HOUSE FOR BUDGET OFFICE; NO CLEAR CHAIRS FOR JUDICIARY NEXT SESSION

Longtime state Rep. Michael Lawlor is leaving office to work in Gov.-elect Dan Malloy’s budget office. With state Sen. Andrew McDonald also leaving to work for Malloy, there are no clear choices for the next chairs of the legislature’s powerful judiciary committee. The committee handles such controversial issues such as the death penalty, gay marriage, gun control and many others.

Lawlor was among those chosen by Malloy budget director Ben Barnes to fill out his team.
