The newly named senior advisor to the incoming governor says talk of the new, high-powered senior staff being unable to work together is “just plain wrong.” Roy Occhiogrosso, who along with state Sen. Andrew McDonald was named Thursday to the staff of Dan Malloy, says he’s been around a while and knows how rumors start but this one is “befuddling on many levels.”
Hartford Courant columnist Kevin Rennie, a former Republican state representative, questioned in his blog Wednesday how Malloy Chief of Staff-designate Tim Bannon would be able to manage Occhiogrosso and McDonald calling them “rivals.”
Occhiogrosso tells The Hanging Shad that there will be no problem. “The three of us [Ochiogrosso, McDonald and Bannon] have worked together in various capacities over the years. This sounds like it might be coming from someone on the outside who wishes he was on the inside. But I don’t know,” he said.
