Internal polls for a race nearly two years out always favor the candidate who commissioned them. Such is the case in the very early stages of the race for the Democratic nomination for US Senate.
US Rep. Chris Murphy, who announced his candidacy last week, released his internal poll Tuesday. It shows him leading Bysiewicz by nine points and leading either potential Republican candidates Linda McMahon or Rob Simmons.
Bysiewicz, the former stats secretary of state, released her internal poll two days before Murphy. Naturally, they show her leading Murphy by nine points and leading McMahon in a head-to-head match-up by 18 points.
