HIS POLITICAL INTENTIONS STILL UNKNOWN, THE STATE WILL HAVE TO WAIT A BIT LONGER TO HEAR FROM TED KENNEDY, JR.

As political observers look at the landscape for the 2012 race for the US Senate, the name Ted Kennedy, Jr. inevitably comes up. The Kennedy name still carries a certain mystique and TK, Jr. lives in Connecticut. However, his intentions as to whether he would want to enter the race are unknown. And just when we thought we’d get at least a hint, Mother Nature has ensured we’ll have to wait.

Tonight’s dinner honoring his uncle President John F. Kennedy and his legacy in this year, the 50th anniversary of JFK’s inauguration has been postponed because of the weather. Ted Kennedy, Jr. was scheduled to speak and present the JFK Legacy Award. The event was to be held at Testo’s restaurant, owned by Bridgeport Democratic power-broker Mario Testa. No make-up date has been set.

As far as the US Senate race, Sen. Joe Lieberman is not seeking reelection. Democrats Susan Bysiewicz and Chris Murphy have both announced they will seek the nomination. Republican Linda McMahon is widely expected to run and there are a host of others who might get in.

Kennedy, Jr. is the co-founder of the Marwood Group, a healthcare advisory firm.
