One of the more bustling places in the Connecticut Tennis Center during the New Haven Open is the press center, deep in the facility. Rows of tables outfitted with phone and internet connections are filled with reporters from around the world covering the best players in the world. This year, the area is still active but it’s not the same. The Connecticut sports scene and the New Haven community in general lost one of the best this year in Dave Solomon.
People are still telling their stories of their interaction with Dave with a combination of nostalgia and sorrow. It’s just not the same this year. And it never will be.
