ENFIELD SCHOOL BOARD SEEKS STAY IN GRADUATION CASE

Finally someone is considering the students and their families in the Enfield graduation case. Lawyers for the school board are now seeking a stay of an injunction preventing them from using a church building for graduation saying the students and their families would be “harmed irreparably” if forced to change plans. Graduation is scheduled to be held at First Cathedral June 23 and 24.

At the same time, the board is appealing Judge Janet Hall’s ruling that holding the graduations of Enfield and Enrico Fermi high schools would violate the First Amendment to the Constitution that prohibits government from establishing or endorsing a religion.
